30 Day Asian Drama Challenge Set 2 Day 25

It’s the word association game! Don’t cheat and say the first word that pops into your head, okay?

25. Describe Asian dramas in one word.

My first word was “crack” but you know comparing it toΒ  a drug addiction is wrong and right all at the same time, but let’s get away from the typical drug reference shall we? So…thanks to bathroom literature…”sugar.”

sugar cubes

Why sugar? It’s bad for you in great quantities (or having too little). It can hype you up and have you bouncing off the walls. It can also send you crashing down into oblivion (energy zapped after sugar high). Sugar can ruin the taste of things or make them better. And this might be a horrible thing to say, but I know people with low blood sugar (meaning they don’t have enough in their system) and that makes the downright irritable. Also…sugar comes in a ton of varieties. There’s cane sugar, sugar beet sugar, brown sugar, white sugar, powdered sugar…that great big granulated sugar used for sprinkling on cookies…it can come in liquid form, powder form, granulated form…it also can come in a variety of colors thanks to food coloring.

So, if you think about it…dramas can have you bouncing off the walls and crashing from either depression or lack of sleep. They can leave you irritable and annoyed. They can make you edgy. Sometimes the plot is just right, but sometimes it’s lacking or way too much. Dramas come in a lot of different varieties. It’s sugar. Good and bad all at the same time.

  • Thumbs Up! Such a smart answer. In comparison this comment feels so inferior…….. But i totally like your comparison!! πŸ˜€

  • You didn’t say it has to be a noun. The first word that pops into my mind is “awesome”. lol

  • cracktastic! A word made up by us drama watchers! Why do I bounce off your word? Because dramas made me drop cable; upgrade my internet to as high a baud rate as I could afford for streaming and subscribe to 4 sites for my viewing pleasure! Do I miss regular TV? Sometimes, but if I get desperate, I have one sing TV that can pick up a channel or two. Do I use it? Only to check traffic and weather before going to work. Sad, huh?

    • I’ve lived a life without cable and internet until after college. We had basic TV and if we needed the internet, to the library we go. Then after college, I had to get internet for my job (still never jumped on the cable bandwagon) and my TV only picks up two stations, so I depend on the internet and my Roku for my entertainment purposes. So…not sad at all.
