30 Day Asian Drama Challenge – Day 15
I honestly don’t think that I have a favorite…but I say that all of the time, don’t I?
Day 15: Your favorite actor?
I go through crushes on some good looking actors and I applaud those that can really act and will gladly seek out and watch anything with them in it…but is there one particular actor that I could point out as a favorite? I don’t think so. It’s also hard when you have actors that aren’t bad at acting, but are pigeonholed in a certain role…or maybe sometimes they are just attracted to these types of roles…I don’t know…but I do know seeing someone act the same role over and over again kind of starts demoting my liking them just a wee bit as sometimes a certain type of character gets old…fast.
So, no favorites in this post. Just a list of various actors that I like in no particular order whatsoever.
Japan
Narimiya Hiroki, Miura Haruma, Sato Takeru, Ken Watanabe, Seto Koji, Yamamato Yusuke, Sometani Shota, Kamiki Ryunosuke, Saito Takumi, Fujiki Naohito, Oguri Shun, Eita, Tamayama Tetsuji, Matsuyama Kenichi, Ishigaki Yuma, Ikuta Toma, Okada Masaki, Mizobata Junpei, Matsuda Shota, Sorimachi Takashi, Takenouchi Yutaka
Korea
Seo Ji Suk, Kang Ji Hwan, Jung Gyu Woon, So Ji Sub, Ryu Jin, Park Ki Woong, Kim Jae Won, Kim Jae Wook, Yoon Shi Yoon, Choi Dae Hoon, Go Se Won, Ji Chang Wook, Park Shin Yang, Nam Goong Min, L, Sung Joon, Lee Min Ki, Lee Byung Hyun, Park Ji Bin, Chun Bo Geun, Kim Ji Hoon, Shin Dong Wook, Lee Soon Jae, Park Gun Tae, Seo Young Joo, Yeo Jin Goo
Taiwan/China
Jiro Wang, Mike He (even tho they play relatively the same types of characters over and over and over again), Kingone Wang, Nicky Wu, Yuan Hong, Lin Gen Xing, Feng Shao Feng, Mickey He, Lin Kun Da, Jack Na, Alec Su, Peter Ho
There are only 3 actors that I can watch if they watch how the grass grows: Kim Nam Gil, Nakayama Yuma and No Min Woo (errrmm I thik I didn’t complete FUll House yet and I love HwangJumg Eum).
There other actor that I like and follow their projects even though I don’t watch them if it is not on my taste
Japan: Mizobata Junpei , Yamashita Tomohisa,Mizushima Hiro, Kimura Takuya, Okada Masaki, Shirota Yu ( I need him to act a little more and in more popular dramas) Koide Keisuke
My last problem with Jdramas is that I don’t like Tamamori Yuta and he is in the same drama with Nakayama Yuma.
Korea: I think I like more the Chungmuro actors than the drama actors: Kang Dong Won, Lee Min Ki, Cho Seung Woo,
Lee Wan I believe he is the only guy that really had chemistry with Park Shin Hye. One or 2 boys look yummy on-screen but the chances that their projects aren’t high ratings:Lee Jun Ki (Arang was decent). Kim Hyun Joong, Jang Geun Suk,
There are 2 actors that get exceptional projects yet I can’t say I ever had a crush on them Lee Seung Ki and Lee Min Ho. When these 2 guys are on screen all I can see is the cute side character, but the plot and the script is usually awesome and I stick around as much as the drama keeps me entertained. I don’t get the fuss around them. Another one is Sung Joon but the scale isn’t that huge.
Taiwan Wallace Chung, Bolin Chen and Baron Chen. Jiro Wang looks yummy but I’ve never seen him in anything.
Really? Full House Take 2. Ah, No Min Woo was very awesome as Tae Ik and he and Hwang Jung Eum were sooo cute together. It was my morning addiction until it ended. I recapped it every morning before work…I eventually will have to add in all the missing screencaps.
Haven’t seen enough of Kim Nam Gil. I have only seen him in Regret and Bad Boy. Not bad acting. Just haven’t seen him in much else yet 😛 Nakayama Yuma. I loved his role in Koishite Akuma. He’s showing he’s got some good acting chops and I hope to see more leading roles for him.
I could go on an name more actors, but I stopped myself. Some I drama/movie stalk and try to watch all their dramas and some I just keep on what they are doing because I like them, but probably won’t brave watching some of the dramas/movies they star in. I forgot about Chen Bolin. LOVED him in Waiting in the Dark. A really interesting movie.
Memorable mention go to:
Joo Won – the best Kactor of his generation ( born in the same year as Lee Min Ho and Lee Seung Ki)but he lost at the handsome factor: he is cute and tall but his looks are a bit of a setback for him. Lee Min Ho looks way better and Lee Seung Ki’s face grows on people while people watch him- that is what dangermousie( a livejournal user) said and it feels right for me.
Gong Yoo
Hyun Bin – he keeps it real and he is the kind of actor that plays in movies and drama just because this is his craft
Jo In Sung – A frozen flower is a must watch if you are 18+, but I loved him in Madeleine
Song Joon Ki – I was eager to see him as leading man, yet his latest projects aren’t my cup of tea, yet those were the projects that gain him home recognition.
Yoo Seung Yoo I loved him as a kid actor,
Ji Hyun Woo – army gets them all,
Lee Young Hoon ( No Regret) he has just a handful of projects – I wonder what’s going on
Han Jung Soo – He’s hot yet I didn’t check his latest drama She is Wow – and he is the leading man.
Kim Nam Jin (Thousand years of love)- his acting is bad to the bone, yet I can’t help it and watch his projects. He kinda disappeared from public life.
Kim Bum – I don’t understand his projects choice. That Winter the Wind Blows is just one that I liked and I miss his baby cheeks – he lost too much weight.
Daniel Henney – he works in USA now,
and the list can go on.
Japan
How could I ever forget about Tsumabuki Satoshi – too late I already did. He is handsome, good actor and does tons of projects on my taste.
Fujiki Naohito – everyone thinks he would get the girl in Last Cinderella, but he lost the girl to other young guns before: Slow Dance to Tsumabuki Satoshi and in Proposal Daisakusen I dunno the ending but he was the secondary lead. I can’t ship him with his leading ladies.
Daito Shunsuke was win in Ouran – I shipped him so badly with Haruhi,
Tamaki Hiroshi,
Kamenashi Kazuya – he isn’t such a good actor but his popularity won him a few good projects.
Sato Takeru was cute in Mei-chan, awesome in Mr Brain and he is one of the best young actor in Japan right now, but my fangirling faded away after he couldn’t hold in his arms a drunk girl, The icying on cake: at the moment she was their national fairy. His Rurouni Kenshin would be a huge success if that incident wouldn’t happen.
Hayami Mokomichi I think he lost popularity because his latest projects aren’t that awesome.
Kaname Jun – I really don’t get why he doesn’t get the lead more often.
Fujita Rey – I just love his screen presence.
You should watch In Time With You, then Bolin Chen will be on your TW list as well 😀
I do like him. Can’t believe I left him out. He is an amazing actor. I loved him in Waiting in the Dark (Japanese movie) and I like him so far in his drama with Ivy Chen and Hu Ge (Modern People or something like that).
Definitely a hard one. I’m the same, I tend to just have crushes on people. It’s impossible to pick just one guy. And crushes always change, too. You might see someone in one drama and really like them, but then forget about them if you don’t see them again, or you might see them again and realise they’re not as great as you thought.
I want to be like that because I was happier when I fangirled over Kim Nam Gil or No Min Woo. It is a very happy way to disconnect from the everyday life (or husband) But it didn’t happen since 3 years ago when My girlfriend is a Gumiho and the smexy Foxy Hunter made my life blissful, however I just can’t feel it anymore no matter how much I would like to.
Lol at first I thought you didn’t include Takenouchi Yutaka but then I checked again, and THERE HE IS!! ❤ ❤ ❤
Hmm, I would add…Zhang Han, Watabe Atsuro, Matsuda Ryuhei, Nagase Tomoya, and Won Bin.
It’s really hard to compile a complete list of actors who are good and I like. I’m not sure I know Zhang Han or Watabe Atsuro, but I do agree with the last 3 🙂 They are also good actors. Nagase takes on more comedic roles, but his serious roles are very good as well.
