2BiC – “Made Yet Another Woman Cry” MV

I love ballads! The vocals in the song are amazing! They blend well together and you can really get the sadness of the lyrics conveyed with their voices. I will definitely be keeping my eye on this newly debuted ballad duo [Jin Hwan and Jung Hyung].

While I love the song, the melody, the lyrics, and the music video, I can’t help but think that the story in the video isn’t really conveying the meaning of the song. This man makes other girls cry because their is only one girl in his heart and she’s gone. The video showcases two parallel story lines. The modern day story with Lee Min Ho [the young METS actor, not the BOF actor] is about a young couple who run away together only to have thugs [whom I assume they stole their runaway money from] come and kill Lee Min Ho. The 80s story features rising star Joo Won who lives happily with his girlfriend until she is taken away [I think because she has tuberculosis or something of that nature]. She returns to Joo Won’s side only to die.

I love music videos with stories… and this two sad parallel stories in which the losses are reversed in the two separate story lines are done very well. My problem comes when the content of the video doesn’t actually match the lyrics. Yes, the video conveys the song’s sadness, but doesn’t really convey the right story as seen in the lyrics. Kind of like MBLAQ’s “It’s War.” If you look at the lyrics and compare them to the video, they don’t exactly match up [in the song it sounds as if the best friend deliberately went after the girl and the two were fooling around behind the guy’s back versus what the video showed of the girlfriend and best friend inadvertently falling in love].

      MV = Music Video
      It is such a good song & the video is like watching a mini movie with parallel plots that don’t make a whole lot of sense in context with the actual meaning of the lyrics, but it is beautifully done.
