EXO Releases What is Love
Um, okay. The official MVs have been launched. We get the Chinese version with EXO-M and the Korean version with EXO-K.
Their <<unofficial>> debut song (because…this is still just teasing…I don’t get pre-debut releases…just call it a debut already) is really nice. Not completely spectacular after all the hype, but still really good. I do admit to not liking the videos. While for the most part there is this contiguous sort of plot [that I am not sure really at all actually pertains to the lyrics, but rather the hype and story behind the group(s)], you then get these random clips from the teasers that don’t seem to fit in with the rest of the video at all. It’s distracting and disruptive and seems really out of place. I also find it interesting that for both MVs only two of the members really seem to be highlighted. I mean, we do see everyone, but screen time does not seem to be equal at all and it actually only looks like a small fraction of them are actually singing in the song… what is up with that? Actually, I’d have to see it live to know that, its always hard to tell singing time in MVs. They do have a very mature sound and I am really liking the Mandarin version. I like the Korean version, too, but am really crushing on the Mandarin. Not sure why.
So what do you think? Are they worth all the hype and the *cough*notsogreatpromotions*cough*?
