U-KISS “Tick Tack”
U-KISS, after coming out with the new Japanese single “A Shared Dream,” is coming out with their first full-length Japanese album. On this album will be “A Shared Dream” and their first Japanese single “Tick Tack” a long with 10 other tracks.
Now, it only took me forever, but I have finally watched the MV for “Tick Tack” [the Japanese equivalent of tick tock – the sound a clock makes]. I must say that like “A Shared Dream,” I really do like this song. Unlike “A Shared Dream,” however, “Tick Tack” has much better rap parts. I don’t know why the rap sound better here than in their newest single, but it does. That being said, I actually think that both songs would be better if you either cut the rap out completely or cut it down to a minimum as it doesn’t necessarily fit in with the song overall.
That being said, the song has a really powerful addictive melody and I caught myself bopping along during the first viewing and trying to sing along in the second. Now I’m addicted. I really am enjoying U-KISS’ Japanese works. Although, like in “A Shared Dream,” there is a heavy amount of English [which is thankfully understandable and generally makes sense – this could be because of the fluent English speakers in the group or just better songwriting in general].
And the dancing? Oh yeah. I don’t know what it was about the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012, but the amount of time and clock dances seems to have exploded. I guess if it’s popular. I totally enjoyed the boys’ clock dance it was powerful and cool. This group has always had some sharp dancing skills, though. And why is it that the Japanese PVs seem to be a bit more artsy in style than the Korean? Just wondering.

This is my favourite U-Kiss song so far, it’s actually the song that made me want to listen to their previous stuff, because before, I used to see them around but not really think much of them. The music video is really well put-together, I was actually disappointed that this wasn’t a Korean song simply because I would have liked to watch them promote it and dance to it every week.
Right. That would have been nice. It’s harder to find videos of Japanese music programs
