CHAOS releases She’s Coming
2011 saw quite the influx of new idol groups and 2012 will be no different, though it’s said that it will be more an influx of boy groups vs. the influx of girl groups last year. I think we are starting to enter the era of quantity versus quality. It’s kind of sad when that happens.
One of the new groups debuting is CHAOS. Such an interesting name for a group. They released their debut MV for “She’s Coming.” It’s nothing like you’d normally hear coming from an idol group debuting. The song actually has a very strong rock undertone. Now I like rock music, so it doesn’t bug me too much. I am just not quite sure how I feel about this song. Not bad, good to hear something different for a change. I think my one problem with this song is the rap part. Now, almost every song in kpop seems to have some rap part in it these days – even ballads. The rap part just didn’t seem to go with the funky rock vibe.
As for the video….
Not so much a fan. Why? Well, when you look at the lyrics and the power behind the song, cute and colorful outfits and tuxes just don’t seem to fit the right image for the song. I usually prefer MVs with stories as well and this is just them singing and dancing, which I suppose is a good thing when you’re introducing a new group, but still I would have liked a little more story.
What do you think? Not too bad considering some of the rookie groups that have been debuting lately.
