Asian Addicts Anonymous

So popular manga and anime are now being made into live action movies in the US. Whether that’s a good thing or not remains to be seen. I have watched Blood the Last Vampire movie and found it wasn’t too awful, but then again, I had never read the manga or the novels. There was also talk of Cowboy Bebop, but I have never heard of any progress on the movie that is supposed to star Keanu Reeves in the role of Spike Spiegel.

Now, here is the official trailer for Priest, which is based on the manga of the same name starring Paul Bettany and Karl Urban (who only seems to play bad guys now after his stint as a good guy in the Lord of the Rings trilogy). I am still up in the air if I will see it or not, but the trailer does look somewhat intriguing, although the storyline isn’t anything really new. But it could be a big hit just for the fact that it has vampires which, thanks to the Twilight saga, is really very popular again.
