Akanishi Jin Officially Announces His Departure
After much speculation of whether or not Akanishi Jin will be leaving KAT-TUN to go solo, news was finally released via a comment on Johnny’s mobile site in which Akanishi confirmed that he was leaving KAT-TUN to pursue a solo career in the US with hopes of being able to gain popularity in Asia and Europe and eventually go back to Japan as a solo artist. With Akanishi leaving, the rest of KAT-TUN plans to continue on as a group and were recently in Korea promoting their concert tour there.
It is a rather huge struggle for Asian stars to break into the American entertainment market successfully, so best of luck.
