KAT-TUN – “RESCUE”

KAT-TUN

Okay, I admit to liking Johnny’s & Associates. From Arashi to V6 to News. Although I think my favorites are a tie between KAT-TUN and V6.

Formerly, my favorite song by KAT-TUN was the song “Lips.” At first I didn’t really like the song, but the more I listened to it, the more I liked it. With their 4th full-length CD, Break the Records: By You and For You, comes a new favorite, “RESCUE.” From the harmonizing to the beat, I love it all – even the Engrish lyrics that almost make complete sense.

The single was released on March 11, 2009, and was the theme song for member Nakamaru Yuichi’s drama Rescue. “RESCUE” is KAT-TUN’s 10th consecutive single to make it to the top of the Oricon singles chart. It was then later featured on their 4th studio album released April 29, 2009. I first heard this song while watching Johnny’s 2009 Countdown, which is sad since that show aired just before midnight on December 21, 2009. But since then, I have constantly listened to their newest album, especially “Rescue.” I am not a huge fan of the rap parts in it, no offense to the Koki, I’m just not a huge fan of that part, nor do I particularly like their PV for it (it’s not bad, per se, just not my cup of tea for whatever reason), but the song is definitely worth a listen.
