Netflix Asian Drama & Movie Updates: December 10, 2018

How have you been lately, minna-san? Things always seem to be crazy around the holiday time, doesn’t it? Check out the new Asian dramas and movies recently added to Netflix’s streaming library and coming soon.

Gara-Gara Bola! (Because of Soccer) is an action-packed comedy which has two friends using their wits to pay back a large debt after losing a Word Cup bet. They may be criminals, but their crimes are only petty. Three people find themselves in a world of trouble when they are wrongly accused of murdering an important politician in Chal Bhaag. What happens when your doppleganger is a wanted gangster? In Faraar, a man is arrested on arrival in the US after being mistaken for a wanted gangster who looks just like him.

Hyun Bin, Park Shin Hye, and EXO’s Chanyeol star in Memories of the Alhambra. The drama is a mystery wrapped in the gaming world. Hyun Bin plays a CEO of a company offering a new immersive gaming experience with an eye chip. Chanyeol is a young programmer on the run from a rival who has developed a new kind of immersive game, and Park Shin Hye owns a run-down hostel in which these two men come and stay. Can Hyun Bin find Chanyeol?

Catch Lee Jong Suk, Shin Hye Sun, and Kim Myeong Su in Hymn of Death (aka Death Song, Praise of Death) This drama takes place during the Japanese colonial period. A married playwright falls for a soprano who records the song “Praise of Death” which becomes the first Korean pop song in1926.

Catch the complicated love story of Xu Feng and Jin Mi in the Chinese drama Ashes of Love (aka Heavy Sweetness, Ash-like Frost). Deng Lun stars as Xu Feng, the expected heir to the heavenly throne. When a mishap befalls him while he was cultivating, he gains the help of a clueless grape elf (Yang Zi) who has a very unexpected identity and a surprising secret.

December 15

A tour guide becomes blind while touring Japan and witnessing her fiancé’s infidelity. She befriends a fellow Filipino who works to help her out of the darkness in Kita Kita.

December 16

Andhadhun sees a blind man’s life spiral out of control after he accidentally winds up at the murder scene of a former film star.

  • Hope you can get the pages up and running again. Absolutely the best place to find out what’s on Netflix. Point of information: all the stuff listed as US seems to be also available in Canada.
