Now it’s time to move on to our second August giveaway. This time there is a Korean music mixed tape up for grabs. I forgot to say this in the first post, but you can choose to have the mixed tape sent as a digital mix or you can choose to have it sent as a physical CD. As I mentioned in the first post, I am quite eclectic in tastes and I have discovered some great indie music along with the more popular kpop. For a taste of what I like and some of what you might be getting, check out the videos below.
Infinite’s “BTD”…oh this is the song that really had me falling in love with Infinite. Yep, yep. I still like it even though I’m sure it’s not the song they are most known for at all. That would probably be the song in which they finally managed to score #1 on music programs, “Be Mine” (Naekkohaja).
Standing Egg’s “Heartbreaking Words” …oh how I love this song. I really love how soft it is and slowly builds until the emotions burst forth. You should really check out all of Standing Egg’s music really. Of course I can only find the Gray version. It’s good, but I really love the other version more.
I’ve also discovered and fell in love with Korean rock. Toxic is one of my favorite rock duos. Yep, yep. “Into the Night” is one of my favorite songs of theirs.
Phantom. They have a great mix of rap and amazing vocals. I really loved their major debut song and their subsequent releases.
Other Korean artists I like? BAP, BTS, U-KISS, History, She’z, 10cm, Zatmaruami, Dickpunks, B1A4, Jung Joon Young, Younha, Roy Kim, Activity, SPEED, CNBlue…and I can go on and on and on really.
If you’d like the Korean mixed tape, just answer these questions in the comments below.
- Who are your top 5 favorite Korean artists?
- Absolute favorite genres of music? Any genres you absolutely cannot stand?
- How open are you to trying out new artists (not necessarily in the mainstream)?
- Seriously, how much kpop do you own?
