I did discover a lot of good Thai music. One of the problems was that a lot of it was older songs and I wanted these lists to take care of music released in 2014. So…I actually didn’t include some great songs because they were released anywhere from the 90s to 2013.

Best Collaboration

So, yes, Instinct x WEAVER makes this playlist, too, solely because it was a Japanese and Thai collaboration. They are my favorite still. I really would like to see more collaborations. You would think it would be awkward with the two languages mixing, but it isn’t at all. The second place wasn’t really my cup of tea, but for some reason the more I listened to it the more I enjoyed it and the more it put me in a good mood.

Best Band

I decided not to split band and rock band into separate categories this time and just leave them as one. Love the Thai bands I’ve been finding. If you haven’t noticed, Instinct remains a favorite, lol. The only reason they aren’t at the top is because Getsunova’s two singles were just amazing and I really loved ALZHEIMER’s acoustic version of “Lom” from an album that was technically released in 2013, but it was a December release, so I shoved it into the 2014 Best list.

Best Female Artist

Fymme has such a gorgeous voice that suits the ballads here well and I’ve always loved Pijika since discovering her a year or two ago. Min Peechaya’s song just has this beautiful and ethereal quality to it.

Best Idol Group

I have enjoyed EvoNine since their song “Batman”. That was a highly addictive song. Even though the second song featured here is a solo by an EvoNine member, I figured I’d leave it in the idol group as a whole instead of moving it up to solo artists.
