Song of the Week – 14 July 2014

You’d think that inspiring music for the summer would be focused on fun, and upbeat dance songs and not ballads. I like to be different. This week’s feature song is by Lisa Halim and features JAY’ED. It’s a sad and haunting ballad and I wonder from the MV clips if it’s part of a movie OST. I don’t know for sure, but it’s also featured as an extra for the DVD Maho no I Land. Can’t find any info about that, though.

The song is 切ないくらい、愛してた。[Setsunai kurai, Aishiteta.] The song is just beautiful. Lisa has an amazing voice and JAY’ED’s vocals towards the end of the song add another layer of awesomeness. The song was originally released in 2008 and was then featured in Lisa Halim’s Best album in 2012. I don’t think I’d heard of this artist before, but I’m going to check out more of her songs now.
