The Forgotten #13 – Lc5 ‘Story’

I like visual kei. I really do. It’s not just one thing. It’s a genre that encompasses rock, metal, pop, electronic, dance music, and more. The point is that the bands focus on visuals and performances as well whatever genre they focus the most on. Lc5 was a band formed in 2010 after An Cafe went on a long hiatus. I don’t know if this band will continue to produce new music now that An Cafe is back and active once more. The great thing about Lc5 which features An Cafe’s vocalist miku as their vocalist was that the music really was different and showed a side of miku you didn’t get to see before. I won’t lie, miku was the only one from this band that I actually knew.

Lc5 was originally a five member band, but last year, they lost a guitarist and bassist and are now down to only three members. Since miku is currently active with An Cafe again, I wonder when they will put out new work. The original line up for this single was Vocals: miku (An Cafe), Guitar: Reo (ex-plu’to → Clavier → Guy’s Family → Brother). Drums: Aki (ex-plu’to → GAM → ninjaman japan), Guitar: Yumeji (夢時) (ex-mello, RHYOLITE) , Bass: Sato (ex-TRANCE AGE, Diod’honneur, mello). It’s very common in visual kei music to see band members how have quite a history of different bands. They disband due to creative differences…and lots of other reasons.

One thing interesting about Lc5’s music is that when miku was writing the lyrics for the songs, he said that on some songs he really tried to write from a woman’s perspective instead of a man’s. It worked. I love all of their songs, but they’ve been kind of buried, which is sad. Thus, time to remember one of my favorite singles of theirs Story.

I really do love Lc5’s music and this different side of miku. Hopefully we can get some new Lc5 releases in between An Cafe’s activities.
