Album of the Month – June 2014
Happy June! The year is officially half over with. It seems like just yesterday we were dealing with arctic blasts and lots of snow in the US and now here is the month of summer upon us at last. Where does the time go? Especially when I’ve only been recapping like one drama since the year began. O_O
Anywho, believe it or not, but I haven’t been listening to a whole lot of music like I normally do in the month of May. Plus, I hit some financial snags in life so I haven’t purchased much new music this month either. That being said, one of the last things I did purchase was Standing Egg’s mini album 36.5. It has as many tracks as a full-length album, but since half are instrumentals of the other tracks, I guess that’s why it’s still considered a mini album.
Standing Egg’s music is pleasing, heart warming, and can even be heart breaking. This album is a fresh breath of spring or maybe a welcome dive into summer. Like all of Standing Egg’s music, it’s a great album that deserves much love and attention. Normally, I always talk about the tracks, especially my favorites…but…not this time. I’ll just let the great music speak for itself. There isn’t a song on this album that I don’t like. I even love the instrumentals even though I am not usually a fan of instrumental versions of songs.
