In order to retain custody of her daughter, ahjumma Yoon Gae Hwa takes a part-time job as maid to superstar Sung Min Woo. Her work, though for the most part good, leaves a lot to be desired and Min Woo fires her early on. Then Gae Hwa gets a call saying to come for an interview at The Show Company. Knowing nothing about musicals, Gae Hwa goes only to hear they don’t want an ahjumma like her. When Gae Hwa lets it slip that she knows megastar Sung Min Woo who the company hopes to cast, President Shi Joon says she can temporarily join the company if she can successfully get Min Woo to join the cast. Thus starts Gae Hwa’s uphill battle to get Min Woo to work for The Show Company and Yoo Shi Joon (who once taught Min Woo in college).

From blackmailing to begging to extensive research, Gae Hwa does whatever she can to convince Min Woo who doesn’t want to listen to her proposal. Min Woo does agree after a mysterious child lands on his doorstep and he needs Gae Hwa’s help to keep it under wraps and take care of the little girl. This series chronicles the daily lives of Gae Hwa and Min Woo and delves into the problems with show business and all of the work it takes to put a musical together.

Main Cast:

Chae Rim as Yoon Gae Hwa
Gae Hwa is a soon-to-be-35-year-old woman who is divorced and raising her daughter all alone. Due to her lack of work experience, she is constantly going from temporary job to temporary job in order to make ends meet. When she is thrown out of her latest house, she asks her ex-husband for help in caring for their daughter Min Ji until Gae Hwa is back on her feet. Gae Hwa is given the job of being star Sung Min Woo’s housekeeper and thus their entanglement begins.

Choi Si Won as Sung Min Woo
Sung Min Woo is a popular star despite the fact that he cannot act at all. His management doesn’t care about this deficit and keeps him busy with modeling, fan meets, dramas, and more. Min Woo is very self absorbed, but with the help of Gae Hwa becomes a better actor and person who finally learns to take responsibility for himself and his daughter.

Lee Hyun Woo as Yoo Shi Joon
Yoo Shi Joon is the president of The Show Company, a musical production company known for its failures rather than its successes. He is a very driven and cold individual whose marriage is on the brink of disaster. He hires Gae Hwa with the condition that she must get Min Woo to agree to star in the company’s next musical. Throughout the series, Shi Joon opens up and begins more human with Gae Hwa’s help.

Park Han Byul as Hong Yu Ra
Hong Yu Ra is an ambitious girl who uses connections to get ahead, but wants to prove herself as worthy. She is Min Woo’s obsession, and she knows it. She believes that they are soul mates who will eventually get together and throughout the series she plays a cat and mouse game which eventually leaves Min Woo utterly confounded.

Kim Yoo Bin as Sung Ye Eun
Sung Ye Eun shows up on Min Woo’s doorstep with her belongings and a letter saying that she’s his daughter. Traumatized by some event, the girl doesn’t talk and clings to Gae Hwa who takes care of her for Min Woo. Ye Eun slowly begins to open up and eventually melts her father’s heart.

Supporting Cast:

Bang Joon Seo as Kim Min Ji
Kim Min Ji is Gae Hwa’s daughter who is smart and very mature for her age. She supports her mother wholeheartedly and can’t wait to be able to live together as a family again. She loves saunas and always plays a game with her mother to see who can stand it the longest – she usually wins.

Moon Jung Hee as Park Jung Ah
Jung Ah is Shi Joon’s unfaithful wife. She is cheating on Shi Joon with a younger dancer who works under her in her choreography company. She wants to make their marriage work, but Shi Joon refuses to talk and treats her coldly which sent her into the arms of another man.

Yoo Seo Jin as Lee Bok Nim
Bok Nim is Gae Hwa’s best friend and a child psychologist. She offers Gae Hwa emotional and financial support through all of Gae Hwa’s hardships. Bok Nim is a huge fan of Min Woo’s and is shocked to learn that he has a daughter who suffers from severe trauma. As a favor to Gae Hwa, she takes care of Ye Eun and helps her get past whatever trauma she suffered.

Yoo Tae Woong as Kim Byung Hak
Byung Hak is Gae Hwa’s ex-husband. He is always squandering money in schemes that fail. Gae Hwa divorced him when she discovered he was cheating on her, thus making her untrusting of men. He constantly puts her down, but still cares about her. Although his selfishness and stupidity makes him rarely show it.

Kim Hee Won as Jung Yoon Suk
Known as Manager Jung, he is Min Woo’s manager. Jung is cold and calculating and only sees Min Woo as a product to use as he chooses. It took a lot of money to fix Min Woo up and get him started and Jung will stop at nothing to see he gets what he “deserves.” He eventually alienates Min Woo with his attitude and way of fixing things, thus Jung loses his biggest bread winner.

Kim Kwang Gyu as Han Min Kwan
Han Min Kwan is a paparazzi who constantly hounds Min Woo looking for a big scoop. He is constantly sneaking into Min Woo’s venues and camping out at Min Woo’s house trying to discover a scandal. He also tries to use Yu Ra to get dirt on Min Woo. Although he is very annoying, in the end he helps Min Woo redeem his tarnished image.

Hwang Hyo Eun as Oh Jae Hee
Oh is the head employee at The Show Company who doesn’t like Gae Hwa. She finds Gae Hwa too old and detests her “ahjumma” ways. It is due to Oh liking Min Woo and using his popularity to try to get funding that Shi Joon decides to use him in the new show.

Hong Jong Hyun as Kim Jin Ho
Kim is the third Show Company employee who is in charge of finances. He is nice to his “noonim” Gae Hwa and generally shows her more respect in the office. When the scandal with Min Woo breaks, he is the first to believe that they might really be dating.
