Total Randomness #5

Eita

I am totally bummed that I completely forgot a correlation I wanted to draw between two dramas and can’t remember now. Oh well. Instead of the Korean-Japanese drama correlation, I bring you two Eita dramas that interestingly enough have a lot in common. Suppli starring Ito Misaki, Kamenashi Kazuya, and Eita has a lot in common (relationship-wise) to Sunao ni Narenakute starring Ueno Juri, Eita, and Hero JaeJoong.

I recently started watching Suppli and am amazed to see a common thread, or rather threads, with Eita’s latest drama. In Suppli, Eita’s character is involved with an older, married woman. In Sunao ni Narenakute, Eita’s character is involved with an older, married woman. In Suppli, Eita is involved in a love quadrangle [Older Woman->Eita->Ito Misaki->Kamenashi Kazuya]. In Sunao ni Narenakute, Eita is involved in a love quadrangle [Doctor->Haru->Nakaji->Kiriko]. Erie isn’t it? Also, in both cases, the married women are possessive and unwilling to let go of Eita. Although the Suppli character isn’t nearly as crazy as the Kiriko from Sunao ni Narenakute.

The two dramas do deviate as in Suppli Eita’s character developed a liking for Ito Misaki’s and he tries to leave the married woman to pursue a healthier relationship with a single (though still a little older) woman while in Sunao ni Narenakute Nakaji doesn’t want to give up on his relationship with the married Kiriko even though he is developing feelings for Tweet-buddy Haru.

Totally random, but very interesting parallels. Until next time, in which case I will hopefully remember the two dramas that were a lot a like.
