What the heck. After a rather bad attempt at acting all depressed and angsty with “Baby I’m Sorry,” B1A4′s latest single takes them back to their more cute, fun image. And whereas it was kind of hard to figure out just what was supposed to be going on with “Baby I’m Sorry” (due to some really bad [as in hard to understand/interpret lyrics]), this song seems to make sense. I mean, what’s hard to understand about your boyfriend happily sneaking around behind your back to go have fun with the boys (and other girls)? Seriously?
Okay. I didn’t like Teen Top’s “No More Perfume” in the lyrical sense where this boy is happily cheating on his younger girlfriend with an older woman and he asks the noona to not wear perfume as it will make his younger girlfriend suspicious. While the song itself (melody, etc) was good, the message was not.
I feel the same for this song. They are putting their girl out of their head to go have fun. Nothing wrong about going out with the boys and having a good time. This song implies having fun with other girls as well (and probably not innocently). Yes, they’re nervous and things might be awkward, but they will go back to her tomorrow morning. Seriously? Sigh.
And can someone tell me just why this video as an old west theme? I don’t mind it, but it seems a little out of place with the song. Oh, and the inside of a club. A club with people wearing Western attire. Not weird at all. Okay, maybe not. I know there are cowboy bars/clubs in Japan. But it still looks weird, although the boys do look good.
Why does it feel like Baro and Jinyoung are doing most of the performances in the songs? It seems like Gongchan, Sandeul and Cnu (depending on what song you’re talking about) don’t have many parts of late. And…well…the vocals weren’t the best. Baro’s rapping is always good, but this song seemed relatively average compared to some of their past songs. That could just be me, though. It might also have to do with the fact that this song has a lot of similarities to “Baby I’m Sorry” musically.
Check it out for yourself. This song is available on their repackaged album. I really don’t understand repackaged albums or remixes. Listening to one song in several variations…no thank you. To me, some remixes really kill songs. Like a ballad remixed into a dance/club song, “Truly Madly Deeply” by Cascada still gives me unwelcome shivers) or a dance song turned acoustic (acoustic does NOT always work with certain songs – like MyName’s “Message”).
